On June 2, 2025, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro received the credentials of three new ambassadors representing Algeria, Haiti, and Iran. This ceremony marks a significant moment in Venezuela’s ongoing effort to build international alliances rooted in sovereignty, solidarity, and resistance to imperialist intervention. These appointments highlight Venezuela’s commitment to strengthening ties with nations that share its vision of multipolarity, peaceful diplomacy, and economic cooperation.

Farouk Benmokhtar, the newly accredited ambassador of Algeria, brings a wealth of experience in international relations and economic administration to his role in Caracas. Algeria and Venezuela, both influential members of OPEC, have recently intensified cooperation in the energy sector, recognizing the importance of solidarity among resource-rich nations facing global economic challenges.

According to statements from the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this partnership is a cornerstone in the fight against economic coercion and a shared commitment to uphold the sovereignty of their peoples.

Jean Mary Vaval, Haiti’s new ambassador to Venezuela, was also formally received by President Maduro. Prior to the ceremony, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil reaffirmed Venezuela’s unwavering support for the Haitian people’s struggle for sovereignty and self-determination without foreign threats or interference.

Both governments have established a common agenda to address regional challenges collaboratively, emphasizing mutual respect and solidarity in the face of external pressures. This diplomatic renewal strengthens the bond between the Caribbean and South American nations.

The ceremony concluded with the reception of credentials from Ali Chegini, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Foreign Minister Yván Gil highlighted that Ambassador Chegini’s arrival represents a vital step toward deepening brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries. Bilateral relations continue to evolve, addressing new global challenges while reinforcing their shared commitment to sovereignty and peace.

Venezuela’s reception of these ambassadors underscores the Bolivarian Government’s dedication to fostering international alliances based on respect, solidarity, and resistance to imperialism. As President Maduro and Foreign Minister Gil reaffirm, these diplomatic ties are essential to advancing a multipolar world order where the rights of all peoples to self-determination and economic justice are respected.
